Ibn Haldun University

The foundation was established in 1996 by Recep Tayyip Erdogan the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality at that time, now the President of the Republic Turkey. Formerly the foundation provided its services only in Istanbul named „Istanbul Youth and Education Service Foundation“ (ISEGEV), then in August 2012 spread its service area throughout Turkey and changed to „Turkish Youth and Education Service Foundation“ (TÜRGEV).

The foundation which started in Istanbul in 1996 with just one student hostel, offers now its services owning 46 youth hostels and 5 guesthouses in 19 different cities.

Ibn Khaldun University was established in 2015 and started offering classes in Istanbul in 2017–2018. The university has 6 faculties, namely, the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Communications, the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, and the Faculty of Administrative Sciences.

To be a esteemed and effective university globally, and to contribute to the field of social sciences through the production of knowledge and scientific curricula.

Ibn Khaldun University's mission is to train researchers to utilize all sources of knowledge that open up horizons for them in scientific development.

Ibn Khaldun University offers study in English and Turkish according to the student's choice.

Documents required to apply to undergraduate level:

Ibn Khaldun University offers the possibility of applying to the undergraduate level in all specializations with a secondary school average of no less than 60%. The requirements are:

• The secondary school certificate translated into English or Turkish and attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
• A transcript translated into either English or Turkish and attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
• A passport
• A photograph

Documents required to apply to graduate level (masters):

Ibn Khaldun University offers the possibility of applying to the graduate level in all specializations with a bachelor’s degree average of no less than 60%. The requirements are:

• The university degree translated into English or Turkish and attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
• A transcript translated into either English or Turkish and attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
• A passport
• A photograph

Documents required to apply to doctorate level (PhD):

Ibn Khaldun University offers the possibility of applying to the graduate level in all specializations with a bachelor’s degree average of no less than 60%. The requirements are:

• The master's degree translated into English or Turkish and attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
• A transcript translated into either English or Turkish and attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
• A passport
• A photograph

Applying to undergraduate level:

Ibn Khaldun University opens admission for the undergraduate level once a year, in the fall semester. Receiving applications continues for a period of five months (May to September), with the possibility of extending the registration period until the beginning of October.

Applying to graduate (master or PhD) level:

Ibn Khaldun University offers the opportunity to graduate (master's or PhD) level twice a year:

• Fall intakes: Admission begins from May to September (with the possibility of extension to October).
• Spring intakes: Admission starts from October until the end of January, and the semester begins in February.
